Executive Named to ILR Post

ILR School Dean Kevin Hallock has appointed New England College Vice President Tom Addonizio, a former IBM executive, as assistant dean, Communications and Marketing.

“Tom brings with him a broad background in communications and marketing, having held senior leadership positions in both the private sector and in higher education,” Hallock said.

“He is a proven leader with strong operational skills that will make a significant contribution to the future of our school.”

Addonizio has over two decades of operational and business leadership experience.

In 2015, he made the move from the corporate world to non-profit, higher education. Most recently, he served as vice president for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at New England College in Henniker, N.H.

There, he was a member of the president’s senior leadership team and helped lead a successful expansion of the college’s graduate and professional programs.

While an executive with IBM, he held global leadership roles such as vice president of marketing, vice president of market development and director of competitive intelligence.

Said Addonizio, “I am thrilled to join Dean Hallock and the leadership team at the ILR School. Cornell is a special place, and the ILR School faculty have always been on the leading edge of addressing issues that impact the world of work. I look forward to helping the school tell that story to the world.”

Addonizio earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Binghamton University and his MBA in marketing and finance from Penn State.
