The Institute for Compensation Studies is proud to congratulate Kevin F. Hallock on his appointment as dean of the ILR School. Hallock founded the Institute for Compensation Studies and has served as its director since its creation in 2010. Hallock has also been serving as Donald C. Opatrny ’74 Chair of the Department of Economics since 2012, and is the Joseph R. Rich '80 Professor of Economics and of HR Studies.

Hallock founded the Institute for Compensation Studies (ICS) to further ILR’s mission of advancing the world of work through education, research, alumni engagement and public outreach focused on compensation broadly-defined. Under Hallock’s direction, ICS has provided research mentorship to dozens of students annually, launched a continuing education series on pay for performance, created the Emerging Scholars Conference to encourage cross-disciplinary academics in their compensation research, and founded an Executives Forum network for corporate leads of total rewards.

“While ICS will miss Hallock’s ever-present energy and vision,” said Linda Barrington, ICS Executive Director, “we are very pleased that his stellar commitment and leadership will now be serving the mission and program of the ILR School at large.”

Hallock will begin his term February 1, 2015.
