The Institute for Compensation Studies Emerging Scholars Conference encourages scholars in the early stages of their research careers by providing an opportunity for rigorous, cross-disciplinary research dialogue focusing on compensation (very broadly defined).
The 2013 Institute for Compensation Studies Emerging Scholars Conference was held on May 31st - June 1st, 2013 at Cornell University's ILR School in Ithaca, NY. The unique conference format stresses interactive dialogue. Participants are asked to read all the conference papers in advance and be prepared to engage actively in discussion with fellow emerging scholars from disciplines other than their own. A select number of senior scholars and compensation practitioners also participate in the conference discussions. In order to promote rich conversation, a limited number of papers are presented, but all attendees contribute actively to the discussion. Presenters have just 15 minutes to present their paper. A full 45 minutes is then devoted to Q&A and attendee discussion.
