Background and Previous Experience

Carmen Sáez is currently a full professor of Labor Law and Social Security at Córdoba University (Spain) and was previously a professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain).  She has held numeous other positions including the following: Chair of the Department of Labor Law and Social Security (2000-2005); Counsel at the Constitutional Court (1994-2000) and Counselor at the Advisory Council of Andalusia (2005-2013); Referee of the Extrajudicial Collective Labour Disputes Resolution SERCLA; and Member of the Experts Committee on Social Dialogue (2005) and Experts Committee appointed by the Autonomous Government of Andalusia to write the White Book on Employment Quality (2005). She has also participated in numerous expert committees responsible for drafting regulations such as the 'Report on the Self-Employed Workers Statute' (2004-2005).

Current Research at ILR

During her stay at the ILR School at Cornell University, Carmen intends to work on two areas of research. The first one concerns the historical and comparative analysis of preventing sexual harassment at work. The second one  concerns the historical and comparative analysis of  the judicial role in the labor arbitration process.
