Adnan is also a Ph.D. student in Law at the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan.  His dissertation title is Legal Framework for Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) in the Mining Sector: International Best Practices Case Study of Pakistan. As part of his dissertation research, he is exploring the main drawbacks of corporations and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on occupational, health, safety, and environment in the mining sector. Adnan is strongly interested in the human rights of mine workers with disabilities and employment promotion discrimination.

Current Research at ILR School

While at ILR, Adnan is conducting a comparative study on the legal framework for occupational health, safety, and environment of mine workers in Pakistan to the legal framework for occupational health, safety, and environment of mine workers in the U.S.  He plans to identify the gaps, issues, and how much leeway Pakistan has to improve the occupational health, safety, and environment of mine workers.

Adnan is most appreciative of the grant he received from the Pakistan Higher Education Commission’s International Research Support Initiative Program that enabled him to participate in the ILR Visiting Fellow Program. He is also very thankful for the guidance from his ILR faculty sponsor during his time at ILR.
