Global Scholars Program - International & Comparative Labor

The ILR Global Scholars program encourages students to incorporate a global component into their education at ILR and recognizes those who do this successfully.  Becoming an "ILR Global Scholar" involves successfully completing the following four "components."

  1. Significant international experience while at ILR.
  2. Foreign language study.
  3. Completing four international and comparative courses on different regions of the world (in addition to distribution requirements).
  4. Writing a reflective learning paper under the guidance of a faculty adviser.

In order to enter the GSP a student must have a minimum GPA of 3.6. Each student will identify a faculty member to serve as adviser, and the student and faculty adviser will jointly develop a plan of courses and international experiences that will enable the student to complete the program successfully.  Once a plan is developed, the student will apply to the Chair of the ICL department for admission into the global scholars program.  The GSP program will be open to ILR students who will begin their junior year in Fall 2012.
