ILR’s website is the front door to our online experience and plays a key role in establishing our identity to the world. Since it is such an important component of our digital strategy, it is the first place that we will express the brilliant work that IDEO did for us earlier this year.

The first phase of the redesign, which we’re calling a “reskin” – think painting a room versus remodeling it – allows us to introduce elements of the brand as we prepare for the deeper redesign and updated content strategy that will roll out over the course of the next 12 months.

In this phase, you will see a significant shift in how our site looks and feels, but not a lot of sweeping content changes. You’ll also see a new top-level navigation, cutting our current menu from nine items to six. This is a result of research and user testing that we’ve been doing over the past couple of years. The most exciting change we’re implementing, though, is a vibrant new design for our homepage. It will express a new content strategy, surfacing the most important and popular content on our site. The most frequent users of the ILR website – prospective students (undergraduate, graduate and professional) – will see the content they want front and center. And, we will also have lots of room to express all the ways that ILR is driving impact around the world, from excellence in research, to student stories and events!

As you see the changes, we’re eager to hear your feedback. Please be in touch!
