Registration and Summer School Forms for UALE 2013 Northeast

The Northeast Regional Summer School for Union Women takes place July 20-25, 2013 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Depending on room preference, the total cost is $640 or $715 per person, which includes tuition, housing, meals, and internet access. For commuters, the cost is $450 per person, which includes tuition, meals, and internet access.

Step 1: Main Registration Form

  • Summer School Brochure and Registration Form (required) - Print out the Summer School Brochure, which includes the registration form, and mail or fax the form along with your payment.
    Deadline: June 21, 2013
    Late registrations received June 22 - July 1 will be charged a $50 late fee.
    Registrations cannot be accepted after July 1.

You will receive a registration confirmation via email, or U.S. mail if you indicated that you require a print mailing. Additional information about workshop selection will be sent in mid-April.

Step 2: Summer School Program Forms

The following forms can be submitted as soon as you receive your registration confirmation. (If you require hard-copy versions of these forms, send email to workerinstitute@cornell.edu or call 212-340-2809.)

  • Leadership Skills Questionnaire (required) - Fill out this questionnaire, so that we can place you in a leadership training session.
    Deadline: Upon receipt of registration confirmation, but no later than July 1, 2013

  • Workshop Pre-registration, (required) - Fill out this form, so that we can best place you in your preferred workshops. Please review the workshop offerings before filling out this form.
    Deadline: July 1, 2013; filling it out sooner will help you get into the workshops you prefer.

  • Labor History Night (optional) - For Labor History Night we will celebrate working women, past and present, through pictures, music, and the sharing of personal memories. We need your help! We want your own stories about women fighting for workers' rights to be part of the program. If you would be willing to share your story, or be a reader of another sister's story, please submit this form.
    Preferred deadline: July 1, 2013, but stories may be accepted later

  • Special Needs Request Form (optional) - If you have special needs regarding housing, dining, or transportation on campus that you didn't specify on the registration form, fill out this form.
    Deadline: Upon receipt of registration confirmation, but no later than July 1, 2013

  • Scholarships - A limited number of partial scholarships are available and will be awarded based on individual needs and the specific requirements of the granting organization. Please encourage your union or central labor body to cover your registration costs before you apply for a scholarship. Detailed information and a link to the scholarship application form are available on the Fees and Scholarships page.
    Deadline: Upon receipt of registration confirmation, but no later than June 17, 2013
