Precarious Workers Research Network Colloquium

The Precarious Workers Initiative of The Worker Institute at Cornell is holding its kick-off colloquium for the “Precarious Workers Research Network” on Friday, November 1st from 10am to 1pm at the ILR Conference Center in Ithaca, New York.

The Worker Institute is establishing partnerships with networks of precarious workers organizations such as the National Day Laborers Organizing Network (NDLON) and the National Guestworker Alliance (NGA) to engage in mutually beneficial collaborations, particularly in the area of research.

At this colloquium we'll host two leaders from these organizations, Nadia Marin (NDLON) and Saket Soni (NGA), who will speak about their work, the specific challenges facing the workers they organize, the innovative strategies they have implemented as well as their research needs. Our goal is to bring together faculty and students with an interest in this area of work to explore research collaboration opportunities.

Please join us and help us circulate this notice as widely as possible. Faculty, Extension Associates, Staff, Graduate and Undergraduate Students are all welcome. A video link New York City will be provided, but we hope that you will join us in person.
