Energy
An abundant and uninterrupted supply of energy is a critical component in all industry sectors, in economic development and expansion, and in everyday living. According to the World Energy Council, worldwide energy demand is projected to be at least double its present level by the year 2050.
With greater emphasis on global warming and protection of the environment, energy supply, both short- and long-term, needs to be sustainable and diverse. New energy industries have emerged and will continue to do so as demand, supply, new technologies and new sources of energy come together.
From clean coal technologies to wind generated power, WIED researchers bring together experts for interactive forums, educational summits and projects that focus on the current and future changes in this exciting industry.
