Viewing a Video Conference via the Codian Web Stream
When connecting to a video conference via the Polycom PVX application isn't possible, you can still view a video conference via the Codian Web Stream and participate via an audio dial-in line. Please note: first-time users will need to allow extra set-up time for the installation of the streaming codec by an Administrator and a reboot of the user's computer.
- Once you have received the conference details (conference #, PIN, date, time) you may connect to a video conference by entering the address of ILR's Codian bridge, http://codian-bridge.ilr.cornell.edu, in a web browser. You will then be prompted to enter the conference number and PIN (no sign-in name is necessary).
- Click Stream this conference
- The first time you stream a conference, an application will need to be installed and can only be installed by an Administrator (see: Access Levels for more information). So, you should arrange to have a technical representative on-hand the first time you wish to stream a Codian video conference.
- Click the Click here link at the bottom of the page to download the application:
- Once the application has downloaded, it may be installed using an Administrator account. This installation process only needs to be completed one time.
- After the application has been installed, the video conference stream should appear within moments.
- Included with the conference details should be a telephone number for audio dial-ins. If you wish to participate in the conference, call into the conference as well as watching it via the stream. Please note: There will likely be an audible delay between the audio dial-in connection and the video stream. You may wish to mute the audio of the video stream by muting your computer's speakers.
