ILR Global Scholars program (GSP) encourages students to incorporate a global component into their education at ILR, and recognizes those who do this successfully.  The program is an academic distinction that is listed on students' transcript and they are honored at the McPherson Awards Ceremony.  Most years less than 5% of the graduating seniors earn the ILR Global Scholars distinction.  Becoming an "ILR Global Scholar" involves successfully completing the following four "components."

  1. Significant international experience while at ILR.
  2. Foreign language study at the 2000 level at Cornell.
  3. Completing four international and comparative courses on different regions of the world (in addition to distribution requirements).
  4. Complete the Global Scholars Capstone ILRIC 4940 the spring semester your senior year.

In order to enter the GSP a student must have a minimum GPA of 3.6.  If you are interested in information on how you can become a Global Scholar contact Donna Ramil (dmr47@cornell.edu), the Associate Director of International Program.  Typically students are admitted into the program after they have completed the language requirement or taken most of the required ICL courses.
