Overview of the Application Process

Informational Meeting

Early in each semester, ILR students (second semester sophomores, juniors and seniors), are invited to attend an informational meeting at which the credit internship program is explained and past participants answer questions about their internship experiences. At the conclusion of the meeting, students who are interested in pursuing an internship for the next term are asked to schedule an appointment with the Managing Director to make a preliminary determination of eligibility and to discuss particular interests.

Seeking Advice

The decision to participate in the internship program may be a difficult one to make. Consideration should be given to your present academic and personal situation as well as to your future career and educational objectives. Seek advice from the many sources available to you - the staff of the Office of Student Services and the Office of Career Services, ILR and other faculty members, and students who have completed internship assignments.

Application Submission

Your completed application, which must be typed, should be submitted to the managing director in the internship office, 119 Ives Hall.  Please email your completed CIP-2 form and resume to bk30@cornell.edu. You will be promptly notified when the managing director and/or the Academic Standards Committee has taken action on your application.  Application forms are available in the Forms section of this web site or in the booklet provided by Brigid Beachler.
