"Calm in the Eye of a Storm"
David Price, ILR '87 entertains new students and their families.
"Calm in the eye of a storm": that's how CBS's Early Show weatherman and ILR alumnus David Price describes what Cornell and the ILR School have meant to him over the past two decades.
On the morning of Saturday, August 20, 2005, Price returned to campus, as he does every year, to welcome new students and their parents to the ILR School. Having become the weatherman for CBS's Early Show through a circuitous and unlikely route, he entertained the audience with tales of his undergraduate years at ILR while mercilessly ribbing Associate Dean Robert Smith, who was presiding over the event. Price, turning suddenly serious, dispensed advice for both students and parents alike in how to navigate their relationships from that day on.
Before leaving campus, Dave met with Bob Julian for an audio interview to talk about how he came to ILR, how his career developed after his years at ILR, and the deep impact ILR has had on his life. Listen to the interview below.
