Resolving Internal Union Conflict (LS256)

This course is designed as an introduction to dispute resolution theory and practice with special emphasis on its applications in the field of industrial and labor relations. The course examines the nature and sources of conflict in various areas of society and the role of negotiations, mediation, arbitration and fact-finding in the resolution of disputes. Special emphasis will be given to developing an understanding of techniques employed in areas of dispute resolution and their combined use as a method of settling conflict.


Susan Woods

Susan Woods, Managing Partner, Henderson Woods, LLC, specializes in facilitation, learning and consulting for diversity and inclusion, collaborative conflict resolution and services to support labor-management relations. Ms. Woods participates on the Expert Forum of the Workforce Diversity Network. The major portion of her professional career was spent at Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations where she was Senior Extension Faculty focused on practitioner education for the workplace.
