Learn new strategies for engaging employees in diversity and inclusion initiatives, and for connecting initiatives with the underlying organizational mission.

Practice relevant skills, and engage in a discussion of change management strategies used by successful businesses. A toolkit is provided with a variety of exercises and handouts for use after the workshop, including an audit intended to help diversity leaders assess the level of engagement with their diversity strategy; self-assessment tools focused on improving individual contribution to the organization's diversity strategy and a follow-up action plan.

Laura Schachter Hertzog, Esq.

Laura Schachter Hertzog, Esq., is the Acting Special Counsel to the President and Dean of Faculty and Staff Relations at Hunter College, CUNY. As chief counsel for the college, she provides legal advice and support on a broad array of issues, such as litigation, employment and labor law, governance, fundraising, and contracts. Her responsibilities include working with attorneys in CUNY's Office of the General Counsel, handling employee grievances, regulatory matters, and administering and interpreting University bylaws. From 2008-2013, Ms. Hertzog was the Director of Cornell ILR's Diversity and Inclusion Management Program. Ms. Hertzog, formerly served as the Dean for Diversity and Compliance at Hunter College and as Director of Global Diversity for Credit Suisse. Ms. Hertzog earned an A.B. from Princeton University in East Asian Studies and a J.D., Cum Laude, from the University of Michigan School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. Ms. Hertzog held a federal clerkship in the Southern District of New York, and has been a member of the law faculty at Brooklyn Law School, Fordham Law School, and New York University School of Law.
