Despite a crushing blizzard, which forced the NYC Open House to be postponed and the storied Work It! project space to go dark for a day, the IDEO team spoke with nearly twenty people to gain perspective on the city-based professional programs and ILR’s status in the world.
The team spent the snow day “downloading” what the various stakeholders had shared. A clutch of MPSers extolled the network of ILR alumni, while certificate earners reflected that words such as management, human resources, business, labor, even workplace don’t often describe what it feels like to go to work today. The team also spoke to a college advisor. “To help kids take ownership of the process,” she said, “I need to be able to explain a school quickly.”
