When the ILR School was founded in 1945 it was charged with a mission of outreach to improve the world of work. That tradition continues today, and now has a global reach.
Leadership & Professional Training
ILR prepares leaders who are at the forefront of improving the lives of working people locally, nationally, and globally. To this end, we offer the most comprehensive portfolio of professional and academic programs, informed by research, grounded in practice and focused on real-world application.
Research & Insights
The ILR School bridges between academics and practice. Through richer insights and workplace-focused research, ILR supports the creation of new knowledge, thought-provoking discussion of employer practices, and better informed public discourse.
At ILR we partner with organizations and provide our students with fellowships, internships, and international opportunities to prepare them for leadership positions with concrete skills in human resources, labor relations, and labor law.
Centers and Institutes
At ILR, we have chosen a variety of themes related to work and employment upon which to build knowledge and insight, training and education, and practice-oriented initiatives. Our impact spans from our home in New York to around the globe.
