Highlights from ILR - July-August 2010
Ronald G. Ehrenberg has been named to the National Research Council's new Committee on Research Universities. The panel will examine federal government's role in ensuring the long-term health of research universities. Ehrenberg is the Irving M. Ives Professor of Industrial and Labor Relations and Economics and director of the Cornell Higher Education Research Institute. More about his appointment is available online.
Profound workplace changes have been spurred by the Americans with Disabilities Act, 20 years old in July, but “there is still a lot of work to be done,” ILR Associate Dean Susanne Bruyère said in an interview on WHCU. Hear the podcast. Bruyère is director of Cornell ILR's Employment and Disabilities Institute.
ILR's health care conference and continuing Cornell leadership on policy issues was part of University President David J. Skorton's address in Carnegie Hall earlier this month to graduates of Weill Cornell Medical College, the Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar and the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences.
