CWA visits ILR and Cornell University
September 21 2005

Last week ILR welcomed the Communication Workers of America to Cornell's campus for a week-long leadership conference, the Clara Allen CWA Leadership School. Over 80 union and staff members travelled from all over the northeast to attend. This afforded them an opportunity to network with each other and to learn from Cornell extension faculty and union leaders on topics relevant to today's labor movement. Topics included:
- Mobilizing Your Members: Building Workplace Power
- Building a More Effective Local Union
- Advanced Media Strategies
- Political Action
- Advanced Grievance Handling
- Collective Bargaining
and much more...
The event was organized by Lee Adler of Cornell ILR's Labor Education Department and CWA. CWA has returned to Cornell for approximately 10 years for their leadership training. For more information, contact Claudia Strednak, program coordinator, at 607-255-4462.
