Employers nationwide now have an improved resource for assistance in recruiting, hiring and retaining individuals with disabilities.

The National Employer Technical Assistance Center today launched as the official website of the Employer Assistance and Resource Network (EARN). The National Employer Technical Assistance Center is funded by a cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) to Cornell University.

The new AskEARN website, designed by ILR's Employment and Disability Institute, is a one-stop resource for employers seeking to recruit, hire and retain qualified employees with disabilities. The website was renamed and updated to reflect and enhance the services currently available.  

The AskEARN site provides online information and resources for employing people with disabilities. Topics include recruitment and hiring, return to work, talent management, and workplace accessibility and culture.

The site also lists events such as conferences and trainings, and links to the EARN newsletter and the Business Case, which features employers discussing their experiences related to and the benefits associated with hiring and retaining workers with disabilities.

Businesses can also find a link to the Workforce Recruitment Program, a job matching service that draws from a database of more than 2,200 pre-screened, qualified students and recent graduates with disabilities seeking summer internships and/or permanent employment.  

EARN, a service of the National Employer Technical Assistance Center, provides employers with confidential, no-cost consulting, customized training and technical assistance, and quality, up-to-date information to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. ODEP provides national leadership on disability employment policy by building collaborative partnerships and delivering authoritative and credible data to ensure that people with disabilities are fully integrated into the 21st Century work force.
