TransQUAL Online Gives Educational Leaders a New Tool
October 21 2005
Educational leaders from across New York State participated in a hands-on training event on October 12th to improve their secondary education programs through an Internet resource developed by ILR School's Employment and Disability Institute. This event was held on Cornell's campus in the ILR Conference Center.
TransQUAL Online is a toolkit designed to support school district planning teams as they collaboratively review and improve their practices in career development and transition, preparing all students for life after high school graduation. Each school district has an online account to conduct self-assessments of their current practices, develop plans for the improvement of those practices, and measure the results of their efforts. During 2004, 113 school district teams developed 169 self-assessments and related work plans using the TransQUAL website.
Apple Computer Corporation provided 14 laptop computers and on-site technical support, so that participants could wirelessly connect to TransQUAL Online for practice and planning purposes.
The New York State Education Department Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) provided funding to the Employment and Disability Institute to support this annual event and for the continued development of TransQUAL Online.
