Master of Professional Studies in Industrial and Labor Relations

The Process

Students are accepted into the MPS Program by application through the Cornell Graduate School. Admission is competitive. While there are no specific requirements as to previous areas of study or areas or years of work experience, the admissions committee looks for applicants with a strong academic background, as well as a proven record of relevant work and life experience. Admissions decisions are made by informed judgment, not formulas.

Applications are considered on a rolling basis, and new students are accepted to start the program in September and in January.

Applications must be completed by June 15 for consideration for the fall semester and by December 1 for the spring semester. Because of the rolling admissions, it is to the benefit of the applicant to complete the application as early as possible. It is recommended that the on-line form be submitted, even if all supplemental materials have not yet been compiled. Please contact the MPS Program office (212-340-2808) at the time of application.
