Learning Goal
Cornell ILR's workshops provide managers and leaders with a high-quality learning experience to improve their effectiveness and competitiveness in today's changing workplace. ILR is world-renowned for research and education in employment-related issues and in advancing the world of work. These programs bridge the gap between theory and practice by providing you with practical application, hands-on learning, and leading-edge skills and knowledge that you can immediately apply to your work situation.
Workshop Format
Each one- to three-day workshop is highly interactive. Curriculum is designed using proven methods that are 
effective in transferring knowledge and helping adults learn. Workshops may include case studies, lectures, simulations, practice sessions, group interaction, problem analysis, exercises, self-assessment tools, role plays, and educational theater. Class size allows individual attention from the faculty to help ensure your learning needs are met.
Certificate Programs
We offer 17 certificate programs in five topic areas. To earn a certificate, you must attend in its entirety and actively participate in each workshop associated with your certificate and complete any prework, assignments, or evaluations. Certificates require the completion of three to seven workshops totaling 6 to 14 days of training. All workshops in a certificate must be taken within a five-year period, although most participants earn their certificate much sooner. We also offer certificates that can be earned online.
Faculty and Instructors
Our program directors include executives, practitioners, consultants, and attorneys with years of real-world, practical experience. All instructors are subject area experts and are selected for their capacity to interact with working professionals to achieve an active learning environment. We offer workshops in four training locations around New York State, as well as online.
