Employee Relations Certificate

Employee relations (ER) is more than just another "HR function." HR professionals and managers who manage from an employee relations perspective can contribute significantly to the attainment of overarching strategic organizational objectives.

ER is individually and organizationally expansive and its impact is significant. However, this is not easily or often grasped. An initial understanding of "employee relations" can be derived from the words "employee" and "relations" and might be described as:

The way in which an organization responds to, handles, and/or addresses any issue that has impact on employees, and on their relationships to and with other employees, managers, and those outside the organization with whom they come in contact as part of their employment experience.

Cornell ILR's Employee Relations Certificate will provide you with a fuller understanding of the impact of employee relations and will enable you to use an ER approach to manage, strategize, and accomplish your business goals more effectively.
