PLEASE NOTE: The Reference Question of the Month is kept current only during the month for which it was written. Archived questions will not be updated, and over time may contain inaccurate information or broken web links. Question: What sources can one use to identify Cornell-related contacts in the Washington, D.C. area for employment and policy purposes?
Answer: There are numerous sources available. From CQ (Congressional Quarterly), the following directories are available to the Cornell Community:
- Congressional Staff Directory
- Federal Staff Directory
- Homeland Security Staff Directory
- Judicial Staff Directory
When using the above directories, look at the left margin area of the home page to which you are taken. Look for the STAFF & BIOGRAPHY SEARCH heading and click on it. Do a Key Word Search using the word CORNELL. Typically this will identify any individual who has some connection to Cornell University -- usually a degree or a former faculty position. This knowledge allows one to have some immediate connection to the individual for purposes of starting a conversation and seeking advice.
