Question: I am looking for statistics on what districts in New York State currently have merit-based pay programs and which districts do not. Where do you suggest I look?

Answer:

I have a few suggestions:
1.  Literature search in Library Databases.  Someone may have done a study and compiled some sample statistics.  Try ERIC or ProQuest.

2.  Also search for information from the New York State United Teachers, the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, or American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. Try searching just from these web sites, using the Google’s Advanced Search.

3.  The Catherwood Library has made many NYS school district collective bargaining agreements available for researching online.  The contracts were received from the NYS Public Employee Relations Board.  They are also searchable–try searching just MERIT.   Unfortunately, you will have to compile your own statistics from the results.
