Question of the Month

From the Catherwood Library reference librarians

August-September 2008

PLEASE NOTE: The Reference Question of the Month is kept current only during the month for which it was written. Archived questions will not be updated, and over time may contain inaccurate information or broken web links. We provide archived questions as a service, since much of the information will remain accurate and of continued interest to the ILR community.

Question: Does the library contain any documentation from the Dunlop Commission?

Answer: Yes!

After the Dunlop Commission (or, more formally, the Commission on the Future of Worker-Management Relations), officially closed up shop in November 1994, dozens of its reports, testimony transcripts, briefs, and other key documents were placed in the Kheel Archives here at the Catherwood Library. Over a period of months in 2007 and 2008, those documents were digitized and uploaded into the institutional repository at DigitalCommons@ILR.

These digital documents can be found in the dedicated series in DigitalCommons@ILR. A place to begin examining the collection is the spreadsheet that lists all the documents available in the digital collection. The collection itself is divided into the following categories:

  • About This Collection
  • Key Documents
  • Statements
  • Testimonies
  • Papers
  • Reports
  • Survey Reports
  • Briefs
  • Background Information
  • Articles
  • Memos
  • Research-in-Brief
  • Opinions
  • Press Releases
  • Notices
  • Committee Documents

As one of the most complete collections of Dunlop Commission documents available anywhere, we hope this will fulfill your research needs on the matter.
