Access Services
Access Services is the library's name for lending and borrowing material from the Cornell collections.
At Catherwood Library's circulation desks, staff will assist you with checking-out library materials and help you use other services such as renewals, recalls and traces for items you cannot find in the stacks. Circulation staff will also answer questions about such topics as circulation policies and library borrowing cards.
Cornell University is home to twenty libraries each devoted to unique content and collections. Please send email or phone the appropriate circulation desks to ensure that your questions are handled by specialists in those libraries.
Catherwood circulation policies (loan periods, fines etc.) are set by the Cornell University Library administration and are consistent with those followed by all of Cornell's libraries. The purpose of these policies is to encourage timely and equitable access by Cornell faculty, students, and staff to books, journals, and other items which they need for teaching, learning, and research.
