Josh Gotbaum is the Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), a federal corporation created as part of the 1974 Employee Retirement Income Security Act that protects the defined benefit pension plans of more than 42 million American workers and retirees involving more than 24,400 private sector pension plans.
In this forum, Mr. Gotbaum will discuss, in the context of ERISA, the future of defined benefit plans and multiemployer plans, as well as pensions in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
