Labor Studies

The Labor Studies Certificate Program at Cornell University's ILR School in New York City offers union leaders, activists and staff the opportunity to earn college credit and to gain a strong theoretical and practical understanding of union-side labor relations.

Cornell's unique curriculum provides the skills training necessary to be an effective practitioner in the field of labor and industrial relations. It also provides a comprehensive examination of the changing nature of work, the impact of government policies, and the role of the labor movement in the social, economic and political development of modern society.

Courses are specifically designed to meet the needs of working adults. Class size is small and structured to build on the knowledge and experience of all participants. Experienced instructors work closely with students to create a positive, personal and comfortable learning environment.
