This program is an advanced course in arbitration advocacy which will train participants to be advocates at a labor arbitration. The students will be trained on all aspects of presenting a case in arbitration including:

  • How to prepare for both contract interpretation and disciplinary arbitrations
  • Preparing opening and closing statement
  • Examining and cross examining witnesses
  • Introducing document and tangible items into evidence
  • Hearing strategies (how to prove your case before the arbitrator)
  • Post hearing submissions and how to settle the case at hearing.

Participants will also conduct simulated hearings and will be critiqued by experienced advocates and arbitrators.
