This course will explore how the American media operate to construct and convey images and stories about labor unions and working people. This course will develop students' ability to think critically about how and why the U.S. media function the way they do, and how the mass media affect the American labor movement. Students will also study and discuss ways that union leaders and activists can use the media more effectively to promote and inform the public about their own union's issues and activities. |
