Certificates

To receive the Credit Certificate in Labor Studies students must complete six 3-credit courses (or 18 credits). Of the six courses, one course (or 3-credits) must be completed in each of the following subject areas: 

  • Collective Bargaining (e.g. Public Sector Collective Bargaining, the Theory of Collective Bargaining, Techniques and Strategies for Collective Bargaining)
  • Labor History (e.g. Labor History before 1945, Labor History after 1945, The History of US Women Workers in America, African American Labor History) 
  • Labor Law (e.g. Employment Law, Organizing and the Law, Law and the Organized Workplace, Public Sector Labor Law) 

Upon completion of the 18 credit Labor Studies Certificate, students can earn the Advanced Certificate in Labor Studies by taking an additional three 3.0 credit courses for 27 credits in the program.
