Dr. Marcela Hernández Romo directs the graduate program in Labor Studies and is a researcher in the graduate program of Social Studies at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Iztapalapa, in Mexico City. She received her Ph.D. in Social Studies at the UAM and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on the strategies and culture of managers and firms. Her publications include Subjetividad y cultura en la toma de decisiones empresariales [Subjectivity and Culture in Business Decision-Making] (Plaza y Valdes) and “Perspectiva sociológica de los actores empresariales,” [Sociological Perspectives on Business Actors] in Tratado Latinoamericano de Sociología.
At the ILR School, Marcela is conducting research on her topic of study, and is available to meet with faculty and students.
