Fatma Kahraman Guloglu

Background & Previous Experience: After receiving her M.A. in Sociology, Fatma Kahraman Guloglu began her Ph.D. in sociology at Sakarya University in Turkey. While in Turkey, she worked for the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Social Services as a sociologist in women and disability's service units. She has also held positions as a research assistant in the Department of Social Work and as the director of The Center for Woman and Family Studies at Yalova University in Turkey until she came to the United States. While in Ithaca, she was a Visiting Scholar at Tompkins Cortland Community College before coming to the ILR School at Cornell University.
Current Research at ILR: At the ILR School, Fatma will be working with the Employment and Disability Institute (EDI), where her research will mainly focus on the inclusion of women with disabilities, a comparative analysis between the United States and Turkey. Fatma will also be studying women with disability issues from the point of view of employment at EDI.
Fatma's primary research interest is in disability and gender issues in social life. She also studies social inequality and socialization.
