Dongug Kang is an associate professor of the department of Rehabilitation & Social Welfare at Korea National University of Rehabilitation & Social Welfare (KNURS), South Korea. The first establishing purpose of KNURS is to educate students to become professional experts in Rehabilitation & Social Welfare. The second purpose is to be a world famous research institute in Rehabilitation & Social Welfare. Professor Kang was the Dean of Central Library & Computer Center at KNURS and Researcher at Employment Development Institute (EDI) established by the Korean Government. His professional activities are a consultative committee member (Ministry of Employment & Labor/Ministry of Health& Welfare/Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled(KAED)(2004 – present). Professor Kang has served academically as affiliations & referee in Korea Vocational Rehabilitation Society, Korea Disability Research Association, Korea Labor Economic Association, Korea Social Security Association, Social Welfare Policy Society, etc. Professor Kang has a Ph.D in Social Welfare with a focus on welfare policy from Sungkyunkwan University and also has a Ph.D in Economics focusing on the disability labor market of Korea from Yeongnam University. He has taught courses in Social Welfare Policy, Disability Policy, Research Methods, Data Analysis and Labor Welfare at KNURS.
Current Research at ILR:
Professor Kang’s current research at ILR focuses on Disability Policy, Disability Statistics, International Disability Research, Labor Economics, Labor Welfare, Public Employment Service, Policy Evaluation, etc. He would like to experience several conferences & weekly seminars at ILR School (e.g. Employment and Disability, Labor Programs, Human Captital Development, Labor Economics, Labor Welfare). Kang also plans to widen and improve his knowledge through various studies at ILR.
Professor Kang is primarily interested in Disability Policy, Disability Statistics, International Disability Research, Labor Economics, Labor Welfare, Public Employment Service and Policy Evaluation.
