Background & Previous Experience: Dionne Pohler is an Assistant Professor at the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan located in Saskatoon, Canada. She recently completed her PhD in Human Resources & Industrial Relations at the University of Alberta. Pohler has publications in Industrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society and Human Resource Management. Her primary research interests centre around union impact on individuals, organizations and society. Her secondary stream of research focuses on the role of the HR profession and HR systems. She has received a number of prestigious research fellowships and grants, the most recent being a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Standard Research Grant.
Current Research at ILR: At the Cornell ILR School, Dionne is planning to work on completing a number of manuscripts relating to union impact on individuals and organizations arising out of her dissertation. She is also looking forward to meeting with some of the top scholars in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management during her visit.
Interests: Dionne thoroughly enjoys any type of water sport and spending time at the lake, although the season in Saskatchewan is admittedly short for such endeavours. As such, she also enjoys curling, hockey (shinny), cross-country skiing, and spending time with her eight younger brothers and sisters.
