After receiving a M.Sc. in psychology with business administration as minor from the University of Mannheim (Germany), David got his Ph.D. in strategy & management from the University of St. Gallen, (Switzerland). At the university he was working as a research associate at the Center for Disability and Integration (CDI-HSG) until he came to ILR's department for Human Resource Studies.
At Cornell, David’s research will mainly focus on the field of diversity and inclusion. Among others, he will study the question whether a positive climate for inclusion can moderate the effects of the within-group status of individuals based on demographic characteristics and their workplace experiences. Ultimately, more positive experiences should lead to more constructive patterns of interaction in work groups and thus, performance.
In another study, he will try to investigate the importance of social network ties for the successful inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. Despite these evolving projects, David will also continue to work on some manuscripts which were part of his dissertation.
