Sung-Choon Kang, South Korea
Sung-Choon earned a BBA and a MBA degree from the College of Business Administration, Seoul National University, and just completed his Ph.D. in Human Resource Management at Cornell-ILR. He will stay at Cornell as an ILR visiting fellow from September to December 2005. Sung-Choon’s research interests span HRM and organizations. His particular focus has been on HRM as a facilitating mechanism of organizational learning. His dissertation is entitled, "Managing the Intellectual Capital Architecture: An Examination of the Influence of HRM on Bilateral Learning in Law Firms." By extending his dissertation research, he worked on an international project to compare the process of knowledge management and HRM in a variety of professional service firms, in collaboration with Dr. Scott Snell (Cornell), Dr. Juani Swart, and Dr. Nick Kinnie (Bath University). His faculty sponsor at ILR is Professor Scott Snell.
