Rae Cooper, Australia
Rae Cooper is one of Australia's leading researchers in the area of trade union strategy. She has written extensively on trade union renewal and organising. Her recent Ph.D. examined the organising responses of white-collar Australian unions to membership decline. In 2002, Rae co-edited a special edition of the journal Labour History on labour movement mobilisation. In 2004, Rae is undertaking a major project on employer responses to trade union organising campaigns. Rae is the Chair of the New South Wales Working Women's Centre and Vice President of the think tank, the Evatt Foundation. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Labour History and is Review Editor for the journal. Rae is a member of the Executive of the Association of Industrial Relations Academics of Australia and New Zealand (AIRAANZ). Her faculty sponsors at ILR are Professor Lowell Turner and Professor Kate Bronfenbrenner. She visited from April 24-May 6, 2005.
