Visiting Fellow Profile
Jean-Pierre Laviec is an ILR Visiting Professor as well as a Visiting Professor of Law. He has been associated with the U.N. International Labour Organization since 1985 and, as director of its International Institute for Labour Studies in Geneva, championed the ILR School’s formal partnership with the ILO in 2003. He earned his B.A. in 1967 from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques, University of Paris; his LL.M. 1969 from the University of Paris II; and his Ph.D. (summa cum laude), from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland in 1984. Professor Laviec has been a Visiting Professor and Senior Lecturer in International Economic Law at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva since 1995. He teaches International Economic Law, International Employment, Labor Law and International Monetary Law which he is teaching as a short course this fall term.
