Visiting Fellow Profile
Henning Meyer is Head of the European Programme at the Global Policy Institute and Managing Editor of Social Europe Journal. He was educated at the University of Trier (Germany) and London Guildhall University earning a Master’s degree in British and European politics and government. His research interests lie in the fields of social and economic policy, Globalisation, industrial policy, European politics and social democratic theory. Meyer recently completed his PhD investigating the ‘Third Way’ in the British Labour Party and the German SPD.
Meyer is a frequent contributor to mainstream and academic publications across Europe and writes an online column for the Guardian newspaper. He is also editor of several books including “Social Europe: A Continent’s Answer to Market Fundamentalism” (together with Detlev Albers and Stephen Haseler).
While at Cornell, Meyer will work on issues of democratic theory in corporate governance and social policy in the context of Globalisation.
