Carlos Gradín is a professor of economics at the Universidade de Vigo (Galicia, Spain). He earned his M.A. (1994) and Ph.D. (1999) in Economics from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. His research focuses on income distribution issues like inequality, poverty, mobility or polarization, as well as on the labour market and its impact on households living conditions, including topics like wage differentials, discrimination or segregation by gender and by race. During his stay at ILR he is interested in working, among other things, on the role of the labor market in explaining racial disparities in countries like Brazil , US, or South Africa.
