Arkadev Chatterjea, India
Arkadev Chatterjea is a professor at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He is interested in applied economics including financial economics and economics of education. He taught at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Indiana University Bloomington. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell and has been a visiting professor here during summers of 2001 to 2004. He has twice won the Davenport Prize (outstanding TA in economics at Cornell), has been awarded the AAII-FMA best dissertation prize, published papers in leading international finance journals, and written op-ed articles for several major Indian newspapers. He is a visiting fellow and an affiliated faculty at the Cornell Higher Education Research Institute (CHERI) and is collecting data/material for writing a book on higher education in India and neighboring countries. His faculty sponsor at ILR is Professor Ronald Ehrenberg. Chatterjea is visiting from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2006.
