Ruiz-Quintanilla Receives Sage Award for Best Paper
S. Antonio Ruiz-Quintanilla, senior research associate in the ILR Employment and Disability Institute, has earned the Sage Award for Best Paper published in Group & Organization Management during 2003. His paper, Cultural socialization as a source of intrinsic work motivation, was written jointly with Mark Peterson. The award will be presented during the GOM Editorial Board meeting at the 2004 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
The paper argues that intrinsic motivation depends not only on innate qualities common to all people, but also on socialization into aspects of national culture that support proactive work behavior. View the abstract and full citation (pdf).
