Thomas Golden Moderates International e-Dialogue on Employment and Youth with Disabilities

Thomas Golden

ILR Cornell's Employment and Disability Institute (EDI), the World Bank, Bocconi University, Employer's Forum on Disability, Workability International and the International Labor Organization are currently implementing a study on "Employment and Youth with Disabilities: Sharing Knowledge and Best Practices."  As part of that study, the World Bank, in conjunction with their partners, hosted a four-week international discussion group during the months of May and June 2004.  The intent and purpose of the e-discussion was to better understand the effective practices that lead to adult success for youth with disabilities.

The fourth and final week of the international discussion group was moderated by EDI's Thomas Golden. Golden facilitated a dialogue that examined and explored the final piece in the transition planning puzzle--that of the roles, responsibilities and best practices of policy makers and government in supporting effective transitions for youth with disabilities.  Read the summary of the discussion (pdf).
