Celebrating Global Cultures at the Johnson Museum

This international outreach event offers a variety of globetrotting activities. Join us for a tour of the galleries, a gamelan demonstration and dance performances from Greece, Turkey, and India. Explore OMNI cases that are used to enrich global studies curricula and are available through the OMNI school program. This event is held in collaboration with the Johnson Museum to highlight how its collections can be incorporated into international studies programs and school curricula.
10:00 - 11:00 a.m.: Gallery tour by Museum Education staff
11:00 - 12 noon: Gamelan demonstration by Bethany Collier
11:00 - 11:30 a.m.: Turkish Rom dances performed by Cornell physical education instructor and professional oriental dancer June Seaney
11:30 - 12 noon: Greek dance performed by Cornell student Evan Papadimas
12:00 - 12:30 p.m.: Indian classical dance performed by dance lecturer and Cornell SE Asian Program outreach educator Durga Bor
