ILR International Programs and COLA invite you to join us for a showing of the provocative film:

WHAT'S THE ECONOMY FOR, ANYWAY?

Wednesday, April 14, 5:00 pm, 105 Ives Hall. Film is 39 minutes and will be followed by a discussion with film-maker John de Graaf.

You could call it Al Gore meets Stephen Colbert: humorous, edgy, fact, challenges the ways we measure economic success, compares the performance of the U.S. economy with that of other industrial societies and offers ideas for “capitalism with a human face.”

“It’s completely great!” --writer and environmentalist Bill McKibben

John de Graaf is Executive Director of TAKE BACK YOUR TIME, an organization challenging time poverty and overwork in the U.S. and Canada (www.timeday.org).  He is the recipient of more than 100 regional, national and international awards for film-making, including three Emmy awards.
