Ambassador Barshefsky was United States Trade Representative from 1997 to 2001 and is currently a partner with the WilmerHale law firm in Washington, DC. One of Ambassador Barshefsky's many accomplishments is that she was the architect and chief negotiator of the agreement resulting in China's entry into the World Trade Organization.
She also negotiated the first bilateral U.S. trade agreement (with Jordan) that included respect for internationally recognized core labor standards.
Following Ambassador Barshefsky's presentation, she has graciously agreed to take questions from the audience.
